ONT power cable missing

Ive moves to a new property and ONT cable missing so nothing to connwct router to. First avaliable date to get my wifi up and running is 9th August! Despite me explaining my son is non verbal and his only way to communicate is through his ipad. This  made no difference and i still need to wait!! Anyway i told them the cable was missing and i would need that before 9th to get up and running . They said they have to wait till 9th when its remotely activated and a line test is done. Only then can they eacalate it(which takes a few days) then an engineer will be booked to bring out cable which can take a while so technically god knows how long till i have wifi. Its shocking that im telling them about the problem but they cant act on it beforehand!!

can anyone help or suggest anything. Im having to buy data and run ipad off my hotspot but its going to cost me a fortune.

@Nicola99 I appreciate this is frustrating but Sky are limited by the way Openreach work. Currently there is a minimum 14 day lead time for home moves set by Ofcom which is the primary issue. Openreach simply refuse to provide power supplies for ONTs until after the activation fails which strikes me as being stupid but them is the rules. Sorry.
