We have sky broadband superfast 35. It's great for everything, but struggles with the gaming side of it. My son has an xbox, and it's fluctuating between 500 mb to 1.7 kb.
What is the best thing to do from here? I'm looking at getting an extra long broadband cable for the router as the one we were supplied with is too short to get the connection to the xbox.
Or get a Sky Max? Will this improve the signal? I did have an EE extra wifi signal (enhancer?) and we seemed to be ok. I left EE because their connection kept dropping so low that we had no internet, and took a gamble with Sky hoping to get a better service.
What should I do? I have a pretty frustrated son who needs to contact his friends on xbox (he's autistic and this is his lifeline). I've had BT for a long time and stupidly went with EE to try and save some money but it made no difference, just rubbish broadband.
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

@Sick_of_Waiting Have a look at Powerline from Tp-Link, will not be the greatest off speeds but may be enough to work fine.

@Sick_of_Waiting You will never beat a direct connected Ethernet cable between the two devices, it is by far the best way to go!

Re: Not enough data for gaming (xbox)
Hi, my hub is situated in the front room, and my son's room is at the back of the house. The hub is too far away to be able to add an ethernet cable to his xbox. My only plan to this would be to get an extra long broadband cable and move the router to his room if that would be long enough. Or have a telephone line put in to his room and put the hub there instead, so that he could do as you suggested. I'm not an expert at this but I'm trying 😅

That looks like it could do something for him.. if it's only for trying it out, it's something. I like the sound of it, so I'll look into it. Thank you. 😁
