An engineer doesn't bring the hub.

Hubs for new activations are normally dispatched via Royal Mail to arrive a few days prior to the activation date.
Once sent out you can usually track its progress.

The postie will usually leave it hidden if no one is in. You shouldn't need to sign for it. The postie should also pop a card through the letterbox telling you where it was left and the tracking should show some information on it too.

Sounds like you'll need to contact Sky again.

Re: No router?

@meggymooxox Sky send a Hub to arrive couple off day's before your activation date, that is the date they gave you when your connection will be made live on the sky network. You can see the status in your my orders section off your account!

Was this for a new activation or to replace an existing hub?

Re: No router?

A new activation. My date was 9th December but they never brought the hub. Ive tried chasing it up but theres no record of my order. I paid a £5 set up fee too. I'm beginning to think ive been scammed. Ive requested a chargeback on my bank

Because that's how huge forty-year-old household name companies stay in business?

Unfortunately if the account falls into deficit then all service will cease.

It's reasonably unlikely that there are scam sign-ups for Sky Broadband around: the profit available to criminals that way really isn't worth it.  If you've received notification of an activation date then the order will have been taken by Sky.

Incidentally, you say 'they never brought the hub': does that mean other equipment arrived with an installer?  If so, was that Sky Q television hardware, and are you sure you actually ordered broadband too?
