No broadband

Last year Sky contacted us and asked us if we wanted to upgrade to Sky Fibre Optics after a discussion about this we opted to go ahead and upgrade.

On 8th January we had an engineer come out to connect the fibre optics and he then pulled out all of the copper. When ge tried to connect to the internet
it did not work. They told us it would be live in an hour then 2 hours then we were told they would come back the next day to repair it and fix it.

Incompetency 1: How did he not know that the fibre optics for our side was not ready to use as of yet.

Incompetency 2: why did he pull out all the copper because he then couldnt put the old SKY internet back on.

Everyday since the 8th we have been on the phone with SKY agents for 3/4 hours, they keep placing the order, which keep getting cancelled. They have sent out engineer after engineer and no one can resolve the issue.

They keep promising to fix it but it has been ongoing for far too long.

Every time I call they pass me from one person to the other and it’s like no one knows what to do. Our life has been consumed with trying to get this fixed but unfortunately I can’t seem to see that anyone knows how to fix it.

This has meant that our work has been put on hold, my children’s online education has been on hold however we are still having to pay the tutors, our mobile phone data is through the roof and we’ve had to pay so much more in costs. We’ve lost out financially in many ways and will be expecting compensation for our losses.

We have been loyal customers for the last 30 years and we are utterly disappointed in the lack of help that we have received.

Re: No broadband

@rsttz Put simply it's got nothing to do with sky and they have no pull in getting it done for you, in any way shape or form, yes the Engineer doing the job was wrong waiting for the Fibre to be up working before the copper removal, but the Forum has zero idea as to why the Engineer decided to do what he did and the reason or the method behind that fact!

Some installations do go wrong, and although some can be fixed fairly quickly others can be very long protracted drawn out affairs, the Forum nor Sky will have any insight into that reason....

Now because you say the copper was pulled going with this was OR Openreach primary on the job, if another or another contractor did that who knows. You can only pursue this with sky as you are there customer, nothing else!
