No broadband connection for over 12 hours

Last night my router had green and orange lights on it.  Switched off and re-started numerous times.  Got up this morning and just green lights on the router.  Tried to connect to broadband.  Still nothing.  Switched off and re-started.  Still nothing.  Checked Sky and it says my broadband is not with them.  Funny as everything was ok yesterday and my next payment is due on the 16th December.  Sky say no problems in my area.  All very odd.  Anyone else getting the same ?

Re: No broadband connection for over 12 hours

Finally after a conversation with Sky last night it seems as though my contract has been terminated as they had received a request from another provider giving my address details.  Definitely wasn't me.  Unfortunately they are unable to re-connect me on the old contract and so am having to have the upgraded fibre option, which when I asked a few months ago, wasn't available in my area.  It apparently now is.  Downside of this is that they are unable to get my internet connected until early January !!!  Not ideal, may be sooner if they can get me a cancellation with BT Openreach.  Surfing for the foreseeable will be via my phone or at work.

Are you able to run this line test:

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

Note that 'no problems in your area' refers to known widescale outage affecting multiple users.  It's entirely possible that an individual circuit to a property is out of action while the occupant still sees that message (which is really rather unhelpful)
