No Internet

Hi my Sky Broadband is down now 4 weeks and still no sign of getting fixed,can I cancel my contract as I still have 5 months left on it and not have to pay any money as its not mg fault iv no Internet in 4vweeks thanks

@Jim751  If the fault is external on the Openreach Network moving provider may not help as that provider no doubt would have an issue getting you connected.

Thanks for getting in touch and letting me know the situation with moving to another provider as iv already contacted Eir with regards getting installed,I don't know much about the Internet but I fo know that my broadband stopped working 4 weeks ago the night of thd storm so Sky have said its a external problem and any time I ring its the same thing the don't know when it will be fixed,Eir have given me a installation date for the 13th of March so I'm expecting it to be well sorted by then,thanks again for taking the time to reply to my question

@Jim751  I'm not sure how good the Network Operator in Ireland is but in the UK Openrach are bad at keeping ISPs updated.

 

However given this was a result of the storms I dare say affected lines etc would need replacing across a large part of the country and that can unfortunately can take time. 

 

You would need to check with ComReg if any type of compensation would be payable upon resolution, however the operator themselves could state force Majuere which may override any compensation.
