No Internet, router went back to 1970 at midnight

Internet dropped, resetting the router had no effect on this occasion.  When i ran the broadband test at Sky help it said everything was OK but the Internet light remained orange. Looking at the log, the router had the date 1970-01-01 from midnight...

(00:00) <span;>syslog: TR69: Connect to ACS Failed: Could not resolve host

<span;>1970 01:49:31 syslog: Received valid DHCP lease from server.  Connection UP.

<span;>1970 01:49:32 syslog: Send out NTP request to ntp1.isp.sky.com

<span;>2023 05:09:30 syslog: TR69: Close ACS Connection
<span;>2023 05:09:52 syslog: bind 0.0.0.0 - Address already in use

What went wrong?

@D909

The syslog always resets to 1970. At that time it may just be maintenance by sky or openreach themselves

Could you post your hub stats to check that theres nothing else happening

Usually resetting the router works but on this occasion it took 5 hours to return... there was no reported maintenance

Good to know the broadband has returned to normal operation now. The router stats are suitable speed for the line length showing a 70Mbps downstream and 20Mbps upstream speed capacity.

The router reset the time for loss of power either by human action (eg: reboot) or electrical failure in the premises. This gets resynched by network time protocol (NTP) to the correct time once a TCP layer is operational on the broadband line to the exchange which occurred a couple of hours later.
