No Connection on Wifi

Over the past few weeks I've noticed when I am at home, or at my partners house (who is also a Sky customer) and my phone is connected to the Sky wifi, a number of apps don't work intermitrently. Just now for example when I opened My Sky, I just had a white screen until I switched off wifi on my phone, then it connected right away. Whatsapp was also backing up in the background and had been preparing the backup for some time, as soon as I switched wifi off, it was completed within 2 minutes. This is happening most of the time with other apps like Nest and Rightmove not opening if I am connected to wifi at home or at my partners.

@ClaireH14 do other devices connect normally? If so the issue is likely yo becwith your phone.

 

Sky broadband does not generally have issues with the apps you mention but it is worth checking the settings on each network for the web filter Sky Broadband Shield as forcexample if set too low thst will block social networking etc by default it is set at age 13. The account holder can change the setting in the product settings section of the My Sky app or website.

 

Other than that the speed of the WiFi depends not onlyon the speed of the connection to the hub but also on the WiFi in the home your phone should show that few bars = slower connection. Signal strength is affected by both distance and what solid objects the signals pass through so how the home is built is a factor.
