No Broadband For 4 Days SK12, Poynton, Stockport

Poynton, Stockport, SK12. Outage since Monday, 4th day of no broadband.

Every time I log in to check, it says they're working on it and it'll be fixed within 48 hours of Monday the 15th. It still says that now, almost 72 hours from that date.

Openreach vans were here on Friday, they left their cherry picker parked outside the house for the entire weekend. They came back on Monday, then left, and it went down just before they left. So I can only think that whatever they've done, they've bodged it.

When I did manage, after a lot of trying... to get through to someone on the phone yesterday, they told me an engineer was due on site yesterday, and they were aiming to fix it by the end of the day. No joy. We've not seen another engineer at all since Monday when it started, I suppose it could be that they're fixing it somewhere else, but the cynic in me tells me they've just not sent anyone out yet.

I can't get anything from sky other than "there is an outage", yeah, thanks for that...

Any ideas, other than abandoning ship and moving back to Virgin? Trying to work from home with no internet connection is very tricky! 😉

I've tried reporting it to Openreach but I'm getting nowhere with them either.

Thanks 🙂

48 hours (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) is the national Openreach target for domestic fault resolution: they report to Ofcom that they meet this target in around 85% of incidents.

Any individual fault takes as long as it takes, and the website information is rarely as useful as it should be.

Sky broadband being discussed here is a domestic service and whilst it's fine for those customers working from home to use it, they won't receive additional or quicker support.

Openreach won't be contactable. They only talk to the ISPs who in this case is Sky.

Thanks,

Re working from home, yeah, I get that, I'm just venting the fact that having no internet - where literally everything is done online, is frustrating.

Re openreach, hmm, we'll see about that! 😉

@ilikecoffee

ISPs can only populate their own websites with the information that Openreach provides.
