New to sky broadband but it’s very poor

Had sky broadband for only a month now. Came from BT fibre.
A Speedtest shows great speeds but we all struggle with any kind of half decent speeds on our iPhones now and when we're upstairs.
can someone assist with this please. TY.

@CraigA7

Try running the line test here to see if any faults are found:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

If this is of no help give Sky a call to report it to them.

Re: New to sky broadband but it’s very poor

I've run all the tests as directed at least half a dozen times. It seems the signal upstairs is dramatically poor. 20mbps download compared to 400+ downstairs.
what booster can I use for upstairs please?

Re: New to sky broadband but it’s very poor

If you getting 400+ downstairs then you are getitng what you paying for.

With any ISP they charge extra for Wi-Fi coverage by selling you boosters for extra monthly charge.

The solution is you either invest in your own router with better range or 2 unit mesh system. It's a better option than paying ISP monthly charge. With your own router/mesh it belongs to you and can be used if you switch to different ISP.

Totally understand. I'm looking for advice re moving forward with better upstairs signal that's all. Hoping to get recommendations on what products will work for boosting the upstairs of the house. Thanks

Re: New to sky broadband but it’s very poor

It really comes down to your budget. There are hardware that cost £50 for basic router to £500+ for triple band Wi-Fi 7 mesh system.

I normally avoid the very basic as you won't really get much improvement but not prepared to pay over £150. I have previously used a Wi-Fi 5 mesh system for 3 years but now using a single router. I paid £75 for it 2 years ago from this seller.  I am tempted to try out a Deco X50 later..maybe during Black Friday sales 😀

Everyones house is affected differrently via Wi-Fi. If it worked for me, it may not work for you 😉
