New sky max hub

Replaced my old sky hub with a new sky max hub, as soon as I set it up I had a red light, don't know why as I literally turned the old one of, connected the new one and turned it back on. Is their an activation date just for switching hubs?

@ZoeT2941 New account setup for you sky Max to attach to but it should all have connected at least to get started!

Also don't be in a rush to send the old sky Broadband Hub back incase you get sky Max issues!

The electronic version to getting started below!

Re: New sky max hub

When you connect up your new router, the power up sequence will be (on a working system)

If you have the Black Router (SR203)

Power light will start red, then after a few seconds go green

After around 60 seconds the WiFi light should light up green

Your Internet light should then illuminate orange, it will negotiate then when a vaild connection is made it should go green

The Phone light will eventually go green once the router has recieved your profile from the network

If the power light starts flashing then it is updating the firmware, after which it will reboot.

If you have a White Router (SR213)

When you power up, the light will pulse green while it tries to set up, it has seen the Internet and is negotiating

Once its ready the light will be white

If it goes red, then it cant see the internet.

Your ONT lights that you have should be Power - Green, PON - Green, LOS - Off, LAN On and flickering green

If your PON light is off and the LOS is red then there is a fiber connection problem, you will need an engineer to fix

Double check that the ethernet cable is plugged into the socket on the bottom of the ONT, the other end should be connecetd to Port 4 on the back of your router, it is also marked 'WAN' if it is plugged into anyother port then it will not be able to connect correctly to the Internet.

I remember the Internet starting!

Sky Full Fibre & Virgin Media XGS-PON, with automatic failover using DrayTek multi WAN router.
Sky Q, which will be sadly missed when they decide to kill it off!
