New sky broadband deal

I have skyQ already and was going to switch to sky stream, however due to cockups by sky I am now sticking with Q but with a revised deal.  Landline has already gone. New router has been delivered and activation is on 6november.  Do I connect new router on same day as activation or before?

There is nothing stopping from connecting it up earlier but it might not work until the 6th and do note the activation can take place anytime throughout the day,
