New install issues (minor ones!)

1.

just had FTTP installed to replaced my Sky Superfast connection - still have both services running simultaneously (assuming to ensure there's no break in service) but how long does that overlap usually last? 

2.

Should the engineer (one from MJ Quinn) have capped the interior hole? He's filled it with silicon outside but left it exposed inside... are those nice round caps standard with a FTTP Openreach install? Or do Sky not provide that finishing touch inside?

@Plektrum Yes he should have capped the interior, may have not had one with him or run out off them, not sure what you can do now to rectify it with him gone!

Thought as much... went on live chat and they said they'll send an engineer out 😂  (probably could have just sent one in the post but oh well!) 

Well at least it's working at a decent clip, my Q set up hasn't collapsed (yet) and the old service is switched off... but I want a tidy wall! Cheers pal!

@Plektrum If you are using landline phone, that can take a period off changeover sky side before it all settles, to operate over the new FF Full Fibre connection, estimates are 24-48Hrs but no longer than that....

Hope the Q stay's up and working can be a shock if the Hub get's moved from central to one end of the property with the way they insist on sticking the ONT to suit the suppliers criterea on an outside wall, and M J Quinn are not flexible at all, kicked him off the install as he was halving a laugh with what, OR came 21 day's later and did no problems at all!
