@PLSky Sky do not replace hubs unless they are faulty or are no longer supported. It is expected that all customers with the flat black style of hub or older will be contacted to arrange replacements as these hubs are not going to meet new regulatory requirments coming In later this year. Given the number of units involved this will almost certainly be done in batches not by individual request.

Changing the hub will not normally improve connection or wifi speeds unless yout hub is over 8 years old

@PLSky

That's a Sky Q hub (I have the same). You'll have to await contact from Sky as stated above.

@PLSky

The Q Hub was released in late 2015 and is still officially in support for FTTC and ADSL broadband.  All Q Hubs are due to be replaced because they don't meet new UK regulations for the security of internet hardware as they have weak local administrator credentials which cannot be changed by a user.

Alternatively, Sky would happily sell you the WiFi Max subscription supplement for an additional monthly cost, which would get you the Max Hub.

Re: New hub required

I recieved the e-mail stating that my sky hub is now so old that it will no longer be supported with security updates past this year. A link was included in the email to order a new hub. I clicked the link but it consistently goes to an error page. I have logged into my sky account and tried again to follow the link but the same persitent issue continues. Does anyone else have this issue or is there a sky page I can go to to order the new hub without needing to use the faulty link?

Re: New hub required

So, the link refuses to open on my laptop or work computer but when I log into sky on my mobile phone through browser and then go into my email and click on the link via my phone...for some reason the link works and I have now been able to order a new hub.

@f4phixeruk

What problem are you having as the link should go to a page on your account where you can order the new hub. I did this last week so back then it worked fine for me.
