During a throughput test conducted over a wired connection, the anticipated speed of 100Mbps should be achieved by a single device with no other network traffic. If, for instance, a speed of only 50Mbps is obtained under these conditions, it indicates an issue that requires immediate attention and resolution.

@pstroik this has been reported before as it takes time for Sky's network control to fully set up,the line but it should sort itself in a few hours.

@Chrisee

Is that a unique feature of Sky’s service, as my installation provided full-fibre speed from the outset?

@mae-3 no idea if its only Sky but its something I noticed with my own install initially throughput was limited switching to the full 500Mb/s after a shortwhile. Other posters have reported something similar.

Re: New fibre installed today

@pstroik

The Openreach engineer should check if this speed is working as expected. Openreach and I tested it with my full-fibre connection and a few other friends who have different providers and it achieved the expected speed immediately.

As @Chrisee stated please wait a couple of hours if it doesn't perform accordingly after tomorrow report a fault to Sky, as it isn't usual for full-fibre to perform at half speed once activated.
