New customer - contact number query/Engineer install

Hi,

I have booked an engineer visit for this coming Friday 17th May for Sky fibre install. This install is actually taking place in the Republic of Ireland, and it not our main home. (We live in Northern Ireland UK).

I am expecting a text/call from the engineer to confirm the appointment however on the portal it doesnt allow me to put the UK mobile number prefix (+44). I am afraid that the engineers from ROI will not be able to contact me and confirm the appointment.

I have tried calling about 10 different sky.ie contact numbers but to no avail, line is busy around the clock!

If i do not receive the text message prior to engineer visit on Friday, will it still go ahead?

It should still go ahead yes. Although you should still be able to contact Sky Ireland, if you phone during busy times it can be a bit of a wait.

I'd suggest an installation in another country always had the potential for additional complications: as you've discovered, administrative systems don't exist for that.

It's also entirely possible that the appointment would have been cancelled anyway: that regularly happens in the UK.
