Hi there! I wondered if anybody in the community would mind advising me on a small question?
I've recently Upgraded to the Sky WiFi Max Hub from the previous Sky Broadband Hub 4.2, the stats are roughly shown below and I warn you now, I'm no expert in these things so I'll try and keep it simple.
Old Broadband Hub 4.2 -
63/65mbps Download.
15/16mbps Upload.
Ping 17/19ms
New Sky WiFi Max Hub-
53/60mbps Download
15/17mbps Upload
Ping 22 and above!
What I would like some advice on is why my Ping is now always a solid 22 or above, never below! I feel like I've paid extra money for worse Internet!
For the final bit of information I currently have the Sky Superfast package as I don't have the necessary infrastructure to support any faster speeds.
Again, Thank you very much. 😊

Part of the WiFi Max bundle is additional server-side filtering and security, which could account for increased latency. It's also doing more router-level processing.
The new Max Hub uses intelligent cloud optimisation to give users the best and smoothest connection yet, adapting and evolving the flow of traffic to each device, offering stronger and more reliable WiFi coverage wherever customers are at home.
WiFi Max offers advanced security, protecting every device connected to the network. From smart doorbells and cameras to your personal laptops and mobiles, everything is protected by the latest in artificial intelligence to detect and block threats. All connected devices are monitored in real time to alert customers to security threats as they happen via the MySky App. This is the UK’s most advanced network security from a major broadband provider.

Thank you for your reply, i appreciate it! I've done a lot of research over the last few days to see if there was anything I could do myself to reduce my ping, simple things like repositioning it, resetting it to factory settings, leaving it off for a good while, but it looks like something I'm going to just have to suck up and pay extra for!
im really disappointed, I was really looking forward to trying this out, I wasn't expecting miracles of course, but i certainly wasn't expecting such high latency levels.
