New Sky Max hub not connecting to Samsung TV

Set up new Sky Max hub today, upgrading from an older model.
Everything has connected fine except for our Samsung TV which allegedly can't find the IP - and it also doesn't work when we manually input the correct IP.
It suggests making sure the DHCP server is enabled but we are unable to switch this on through the website.
Very disappointed as was sold this as an 'upgrade'.

Re: New Sky Max hub not connecting to Samsung TV

@Anna121 How old is your Samsung TV? It could be that it doesn't support the fairly new WPA3-T that is the default WiFi security level on the white Sky Max hubs.

To test:

In your MySky app, go to Broadband > WiFi settings > Advanced settings > WiFi security level > change the current security level from WPA3-T (default) to WPA2 > save changes.

Retry getting your Samsung TV onto WiFi again. If it works, great, leave the security level on your Sky Max hub at WPA2. If not, the problem lies elsewhere and the security level on the hub should be set to back to WPA3-T.

Do let us know how you get on.

Re: New Sky Max hub not connecting to Samsung TV

Hi there. Unfortunately that still doesn't work.

The Samsung Tv is under 3 years old, so not sure why this is causing issues.

Since 'upgrading' to the sky max hub, our overall wifi has got generally worse, and even our phones drop off in areas of the house which used to be fine, so quite disappointed.

Currently we can only connect the tv to the wifi using WPS, but have to do this every time we use the tv which isn't ideal!

@Anna121 Have you tried setting a fixed IP on the TV?

Re: New Sky Max hub not connecting to Samsung TV

This will most certainly be an issue with WPA3 as mentioned above. After changing to WPA2 you need to network reset or forget the SSID on your TV, power cycle it then re attempt the WPS

process. If you can't forget the SSID then a factory reset of the TV will do it. Not forgetting to power cycle (turn the tv off and on at the mains outlet) afterwards.
