New ONT box

Hi guys,

I recently had fibre installed in my house. However last night the ONT box fell from where it was installed (doesn't look like it was very secure) and now is not working. Is it easy to get a new ONT box and set up myself?

I have had to hook up to my old phone dial up. I assume this will work in the meantime? The broadband has been down since last night also but hoping once it's back up and running it will work through the socket for the time being.

thanks in advance for any help

Not if the optical fibre pigtail (ending at the green jack plug) was fractured or kinked: that would need replacing entirely all the way back to a remade fusion splice at the external CSP.

Almost certainly not: copper broadband service is discontinued once FTTP is activated at an address.

Also note there's no legitimate civilian source for DIY replacement of an ONT: only the network maintainer (Openreach or OpenEIR) supplies and configures those.
