New Gigafast installation

Tomorrow, I have an engineer coming to carry out a full fibre installation. Openreach have already called yesterday to add a new full fibre cable from the nearby telegraph pole to my house. I placed the order to switch to SKY broadband 2 weeks ago and was given the date of 15th June to switch over. SKY would be in touch with my existing broadband provide, Utility Warehouse, to handle the switch over. Sure enough I got an email from Utility Warehouse to say my switch over date would be the 15th June. Great I thought everything going well and swithcover should go OK tomorrow (15th June).  However, had a text from SKY today (Sunday 14th June) to say my SKY Max Hub had been despatched (2 weeks after placing order). I checked ParcelForce and they have not yet recieved the Max Hub and delivery will typically take 2 days (I won't hold my breath - this is ParcelForce we're talking about). My problem is this:

  • Engineer arrives tomorrow for full Fibre Installation
  • Max Hub has not arrived
  • Utility Warehouse end my broadband and I'm left without internet

Can the engineer finish without a Max Hub? Surely the Max Hub should have arrived before the engineer.

I'm not happy that it appears I will be without internet access for several days when a smooth switchover appeared on the cards a fortnight ago. I'm guessing I'll have to figure out the Max hub myself when it arrives.

Surely the Max Hub should have arrived before the engineer. Normally, however mine was delievered by Royal Mail a couple of days before service went live, it is always possible Parcelforce may deliver tomorrow.
