New Broadband Hub

Hi all, just received an email saying my broadband hub is now out of date and even though it will still work, it will no longer receive security updates.

So I'd like to know, as the WiFi is password protected will it still block outsiders from obtaining personal information?

Also will a new one cost any money, as I'm binning Sky off in October when my services come up for renewal.

So basically,  is there any point?????

It will be the longer you use it the more at risk you will be as there will be no future updates for it.

It will be free of charge as it is just a replacement.

That is up to you but to keep yourself protected I would place the order for the free replacement.
