Network security key

I have no idea what my network security key is or where to find it on my sky internet box as I'm trying to connect to the internet on my laptop and it keeps on asking for the network security key code

If you are a Sky Broadband customer then usually it is printed on the back of your broadband hub somewhere.

@skinnerfam2023

All ISPs put those on a printed label on the router: some duplicate this on a separate printed sticker.

Occasionally there's a hiccup during manufacturing and no such label is attached: if that happens you'd need replacement hardware.

Re: Network security key

My broadband is currently down in my area but I can use my phone as a connection,  however when I try to do this and enter the network security key it keeps telling me its wrong,  the only info I have are, WiFi name, password,  serial number and a pin number I take it I should use the pin but even that says its wrong,  any ideas anyone?

@Freedomlass

PIN is only applicable where the client device is using WPS with a PIN option (which has largely been removed as an option as it's inherently insecure).  Most devices will use network name (SSID) and password.

Re: Network security key

@skinnerfam2023 It may be worth finding a pin and doing a hard reset on the little button at the back of the router, hold and press it in for at least 10-15 seconds, then try and re-connect your devices.

Re: Network security key

Thank for the attempted assist but that all failed, my son got me to the right spot for me to find what was needed on my phone.
