That router doesn't support sky mer/client identifier option 61.  There is an 80% possibility that it would authenticate via dhcpv6 prefix delegation

Actually it appears the router doesn't support dhcpv6 prefix delegation either.  Probably best advice would be to look for asus wifi 7 routers most of which will support dhcpv4 client identier option 61 ad well as dhcpv6 prefix delegation

The  asus wifi 7 router with the firmware below should allow you to flash asus merlin firmware that will enable option 61.  However the person  responsible for asus merlin firmware was instrumental in getting option 61 onto asus stock firmware

You are mistaken about Northern Ireland (Belfast) — it is managed by UK Sky, not Ireland. Northern Ireland follows UK laws, and although installers from .ie may be used, we must all use UK companies to order our services, not the .ie variant. Same with all the providers.

Not sure i mentioned anything about NI.  I live here as well and have the wifi 6 asus rt ax58u and it works well using dhcp option 61.  I am only advising that the router you are referring does not appear to support any uk authentication methods

@Novatroop77ni At the end off the day. the router has to be able to connect and authenticate on the Sky Broadband side, connecting is the easy part, getting it to authenticate using the required from sky is the part where SOME fall over, Asus get's quoted so much as they have it all in there arsenal connection wise for everything, if you have the netgear then you try it, if it does not work out choice is get something different or use the sky supplied one.
