Sky loans wireless booster hardware 'free' under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some  Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online but Sky won't offer support with using these, and Max pods acquired that way won't work at all.

Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.

Re: Need boosted wifi

Hello @Delgirl08

Wifi is notoriously problematic in large properties, especially older ones with solid internal walls. A single router is often not sufficient to cover all rooms.

So, if you have weak/no wifi in some rooms here are some options that would help:

1. Obtain wifi boosters from Sky as mentioned by @TimmyBGood (but that may or may not cost you depending on what level of broadband service you are paying for). There are many posts on this forum about obtaining these if you search for "Booster".

2. Invest in further hardware and create your own wifi Mesh with sufficient devices to cover the whole house. There are multiple suppliers you can pick from that all work well, but this can be relatively costly but once invested, a Mesh system would work with any broadband supplier if you eventually move away from Sky.

3. Homeplugs can provide a hardwired solution from your Sky Broadband router to other rooms using your mains wiring, you simply need a power socket near the router and another in the "target" room that then allows devices to be hardwired (or connection of a wifi hotspot inthe target room).

Personally I went with option 2 using Amazon Eero mesh devices as some rooms in our bungalow were just too far away from the router to pick up a wifi signal reliably.

There are plenty of very knowledgeable people on here that can offer advice / help in much more detail depending on which solution you decide to go for.
