Moving house - Broadband cut off 3 days early
I moved house on Friday, told Sky about it a week beforehand, and made it as clear as possible that my services would need to be cut off from my moving date. For some reason my TV subscription got cancelled straight after that phonecall (6 days before the move), which I didn't bother complaining about as it wasn't much of an inconvenience. Then come Tuesday of this week my broadband got disconnected, 3 days prematurely. I called up to get it reconnected but was told there was nothing that could be done about it, and they'd need at least 7 days to reconnect me. My wife and I both work from home half the week, so had to work from family members' homes the rest of the week whilst going back & forth to my house to coordinate things with the house move. Basically a huge inconvenience. Nobody could tell me how the mistake happened, and I find it mad that Sky can just cut off someone's broadband at the push of a button but need a minimum of a week to reconnect you. I'm mostly complaining here as Sky seem to want to make it difficult to file a complaint anywhere else. Also be careful if you move in the future! I've cancelled my Sky services on the basis of the sheer incompetence and given that I haven't had a proper apology from anyone. Has anyone else experienced anything as silly?

The switching off of your broadband services early is more than likely an Openreach decision and is reported on here from time to time. Reports on here do apparently confirm it takes them 7 days to reconnect.
