Move to VirginFibre
Morning
just looking for some advice.
if I move to Virgin Fibre will I still keep my Sky booster box? This was originally given to me as I was having issues with my Sky Mini box connectivity as the picture was breaking up.
Ngl, everything works perfectly with Sky Broadband, so a littler nervous about changing it.
Will the mini boxes still work as individual boosters for WiFi too ?
thanks in advance. Nick. 😊

Re: Move to VirginFibre
@NickNewark if the booster was peovided to support Sky Q connectivity then you should get to keep it. However Sky often ask for broadband kit back so you may have to have an argument.
As soon as you stop using a black Sky hub the Q boxes and booster stop being usable as wifi hotspots by non-Sky equipment. If you want to use WiFi to connect Q Minis you have to connect them to the main Q box, another Q mini or a compatable Sky booster. If you use Ethernet then they can connect to the new router or a third party WiFi access point.
Millions of Q customers use third party routers so it can be made to work but it is a change.

@Chrisee Thanks for the quick response, based on recent interactions with Sky CS over the phone with my recent mobile issues, I suspect it won't be made easy or straightforward.

@NickNewark if you get stuck post again as forum superusers can escalate posts to a team who are pretty helpful.
