Re: Cut off broadband
Hi @Andre1_1
What makes you think its been cut off? Sky wouldnt usually do this without permission or notification.

Re: Cut off broadband
Now with no internet since Wednesday morning! And the fibre that sky says it active was actually connected to my neighbour!
Sky have now breaced gdpr rules and breached ofcom regulations. Have spent over 5 hours being pushed from pillar to post on the phone to sky trying to get broadband back.
Absolutely useless company to deal with.

Re: Cut off broadband
@Andre1_1 it is vanishingly unlikely that it was Sky staff who cut off your supply almost certainly that would have been done by Openreach or City Fibre whose networks Sky and other isps use. Mistakes happen as engineers are human but they can be fixed. No idea why you think GDPR or Ofcom rules have been breached but normally Sky inform the network operatior who sorts the problem which can often be done remotely but may require a visit.
The way full fibre works is 30 properties in an area are fed from a single distribution point carrying data for every property. Every home has an ONT which is programmed to only recognise the data destined for you and ignore the other feeds. This is secure and well tested and fully approved by Ofcom etc etc. However like any system faults can happen my own line had one over Christmas losing connection for a few hours but an efficent Openreach enginerr came and switched my ONT unit which has sorted the issue.
