Modem only mode in router
We are currently with Virgin, and have the router in modem only mode to support a Google network in the house. Is it possible to do this still with a Sky router? I don't know what router would be supplied to be able to search, I can't find a phone number for Sky if you're not already a customer, and the chat is not operating!
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Modem only mode in router
@EmzieT unfortunstely Sky hubs do not have a modem mode. You can connect your Google system to the Sky hub by Ethernet either in Router mode which will create a Double NAT system whichbisnt ideal but should work reasonably well for most uses. Alternstively if you can configure the Google system to operatecin Access Point mode thstvwould work. In either mode disablecthe Sky hub's WiFi.
If you are getting full fibreservicex it is possible to connectvmost routers directly to the ONT unit but unless the Google system supports a set up lf DHCPvf6 PD it wint connect unfortunately.

Re: Modem only mode in router
Thanks for your reply. I think we have a tp-link router sitting between the Virgin hub and Google system already. I think the Google access points are just extending the network using a mesh. I will have to check.

We have the Sky Max router (probably the same one that you'll receive) wired up to a Deco mesh system which is in AP mode. The Sky router has WiFi turned off and it works perfectly with WiFi everywhere, the sons PC is plugged into the 2nd Deco, he gets exactly the same speed as I do plugged into the 1st Deco. I wish I'd bought them a long way back.
