Minimum Speed Guarantee- time limits

Hello

we had troubles with the speeds to our router about 10 days ago. I checked using the sky checker thing and the speeds were very low- 5mb, and it had barely reached our minimum of 16mb. Sky sent an email saying that due to the speed guarantee, we can get out of the contract without paying exit fees.

this excited me as we had recently moved house and the new property can get full fibre from a local ISP who doesn't use the Openreach infrastructure. I thought this was the perfect get out.

sky sent an engineer around as well, that fixed the box down the road. So now we're getting a more acceptable 24mb average, so above the minimum but I still want to jump ship. However, the local ISP needs to apply for some license on the pole outside our house before it can be installed- so it'll be about 6 weeks.

does this mean my email saying we can leave will now be null and void? Is there a time limit? I've tried reading the T&Cs and can't see anything, and the virtual assistant didn't understand my question.

any help would be gratefully received.

@StarbabyCat Would think not now sky have had the repair done, you are back up and running now so your contract is now in full effect, if you leave then sky have the right to enforce your exit fee for cancelling the remainder off your contract period!

Re: Minimum Speed Guarantee- time limits

But I've scoured the t&cs and it doesn't say anything about the offer being rescinded if the issue is fixed.

it says you don't have to wait 30 days, but nothing else.
