Mesh WiFi with SR204 G.fast ??????
Hi all,
I'm after some advice after moving to Sky Broadband in a new property and suffering from WiFi issues due to having a wide house with the router positioned at one end.
In my old house I had VM broadband (VM Hub in modem mode) with a Deco M5 mesh wifi system as the wifi router and had fantastic coverage and control over the network.
In my new house I have Sky Broadband (no VM access), a sky SR204 modem / router, and 1 main Sky Q box and 2 Sky Q mini boxes.
Been doing a bit of research and found that I can't put the SR204 into Modem Mode which is needed to allow full use of the Deco's. I also can't easily swap the SR204 as I'm running G.fast.
So, does anyone have any advice on how to end up with a better solution than I have now? Options I've come up with are......
1) Keep the SR204 but turn off the Wifi and use the Deco's in AP mode (would prefer to have full access to the Deco's)
2) Replace the SR204 with something that works with G.fast, but what?
- Could I then run the Deco's or would I need a different router / mesh system????
Anyway, thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to finding a solution that finally gives me decent Wifi coverage across the house.
Cheers!

You could just use the Deco's in full router mode if you are not too worried about double NAT
