Max hub sr213 WiFi

Hi all, just a quick question does the sky max hub WiFi go into an eco mode like the sky Q box as it keeps making my blink camera module disconnecting early in the mornings. If so is there anyway of keeping the WiFi active.

@Jonathan1983 There is no eco mode on any Sky hub that is limited to Q boxes and easily solved on those by changing the box's standby setting to active or none.

However you can get brief interuptions to connectivity due to various overnight housekeeping and maintenance routines these are unavoidable.

Re: Max hub sr213 WiFi

I will try setting the q box to none see if that will keep the WiFi active, if not will be swapping back to the sr203 which seems to be the more better sky router. Never had problems with that unlike this new one.

Had issue connecting the nest protect smoke alarms until I changed the max hub firewall to the lowest setting

Re: Max hub sr213 WiFi

@Chrisee so with the sky q mode set to none instead of eco it has kept the blink on the WiFi also keeping the sky max hub WiFi active without it going into standby, also set the security to wpa2 instead of wpa3-t as some of the cameras do not like it.

So basically anyone thinking of getting this max hub is better off with the SR203

@Jonathan1983 to clarify with the Sky Max hub the Q tv boxes wifi hot spots are not usable by other devices so the Q box standby issue only affects other Q boxes. The Wifi Max hub doesnt have a standby mode so that doesnt apply but no service is going to available 24/365 as things require fixing. You only nedd to downgrade the WiFi security on the white hubs if you have WiFi devices that dont connect otherwise - its an issue with the device as most older WPA2 devices connect properly as designed.

UK customers dont get a choice as to which hub they are sent. Currently new customers get the white Sky Max hub if they buy a full fibre service and increasingly for Superfast services over copper. The exceptions are Ultrafast G.Fast services over copper or ADSL services. The new hub is not used in Ireland as far as I know.

Simply if you are still using Sky Q it is probably better not to upgrade unless forced to as the old Q system is not compatable with the new hubs - the boxes use a WiFi mesh system which was great in 2016 but is not comptable with more modern systems - so you losecthecWiFi hotspots.
