Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

Having upgraded to sky max I'm now unable to control any of my wifi switches outside of my LAN.  All my switches are offline within the TUYA app but as soon as I switch to wifi within my LAN they are all online and controllable again.  I've reduced the security on my hub to WPA2 however no connectivity outside of LAN.  Any help appreciated

@Sam+Londonderry some devices cannot connectvto the dual band SSID routers likectge Sky Max hub use. Thecworkround is to go into the My Sky app find the hub's advanced settings in the Product Options section. Then temporarily turn off the 5GHz band then connectvthe devicescto the then single 2.4GHz band SSID. Once connected repeat tge process and turn the 5GHz band back on and they should stay connected.

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

Thanks for your reply.  Just to be clear they all do connect via WiFi  when I'm on my LAN.  However when using the app away from my property using the 5G network on my phone then all switches remain unconnected and offline.   Just wondering why they connect on my LAN via the max hub router dual band but Joe external to it.   My searches have stated it's a connectivity issue with the hub and the external cloud associated with the Tuya/smart HW.  Thanks

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

@Sam+Londonderry Have you put the old sky hub back on to check, the app is having a problem with the port connection through to your hub while on mobile!

@Sam+Londonderry what do you mean by "my LAN"? LAN is the abbreviated name for your local area network which is normally made up of the Sky hub and eevices connected to it by WiFi or by Ethernet cables. Do you have somecform of a secondary router or similar?

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

That's exactly what I'm calling LAN.   The sky hub and the connected devices within my house, in the case of the switches connected to the hub via WiFi

Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

Hi I've reached out before without success so trying again as I desperately need to get my wifi switches working outside of my LAN via my mobile.  Since my last request I reset one of the switches and was unable to get it reconnected.  Thankfully I did reset them then all and  I can still control them on my home wifi (LAN).  My conclusion is the new hub is blocking the connection so I'm wondering is this a matter of opening specific ports etc.  I did not need to do this with my previous sky hub 4 (black) however I've returned that so can't retry.  This link from the TUYA. website would suggest the same issue https://support.tuya.com/en/help/_detail/K9d1qiiin4qwh.    Would appreciate any help or a way I can talk to the sky technical staff as I'm failing to make contact with them either.  Thank you

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

@Sam+Londonderry Do not know why you keep insisting to try to get the info by opening multple post's and asking the same question, over and over, it all worked on the sky Broadband Hub, now you have went sky Max you are butting up against multiple factor's, and issue's.

If you are going to stay sky Max have a look first at your MAP-T ratio! You will need to be at least 1:1.

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

Firstly Jim thanks for replying and sorry to bother you.  I thought this forum was to reach out to others with experience and knowledge to help others with similar issues.  For context I reposted (2nd time) as I had no success from the first and since that post in early September there are a lot of new people who have switched to sky max hence there may of been a new find.  For fear of annoying you more, given my zero knowledge of MAP-T, I'll research it separately on how or if I can change it.  I do appreciate you replying though.  Thanks

Re: Max hub connection to Tuya cloud

@Sam+Londonderry Got nothing to do with that, and the Forum is all about helping when possible, and the sky Max has been out at least nearly two years now, and it's easy to say yip could not go get back the trusty old SR203 that worked, and keep using your same post, makes it hard when you jump and make new ones, especially when they are months apart. What you are trying to do is not impossible just your Tuya software is not getting through to the Max hub wither it be the Map-T or something else, the lack off DDNS the way you did it all before!

Map-T is a form off better than CGNAT but is a shared amongst user's whereas the SR did not, good to have the latest but you may just have to go third party router to get what you need done! You could get it all working then it falls apart again!
