Lying

I've just used the sky checker to check my connections, the checker says everything is connected but the settings screen on my TV is saying I have no connections to either the router or the internet so I have no trust in Skys systems as this isn't the first time this has happened

also the AI keeps stopping me from giving a title as it wants me to look at answers they have already answered

@Phil85

The service checker doesn't necessarily disclose a problem immediately and there can be up to an hours delay before it picks up a lost connection which is why we tend to advise on trying it again later.

Re: Lying

So what's the point of the service checker then?

 You go into my sky app, it asks you if you think you have a problem, you run the checks and it says everything is fine but the settings on your Tv screen are showing no connection. Are you saying if it run it an hour later it will then tell me I had a problem because I don't think so

@Phil85 If it's just one device not connecting then that is a wifi related issue which Sky may no pick up, it is your line they check, do all other devices connect over wifi?  Is your broadband service still up?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Phil85 the service checker uses the presence of a lease with the server to check if it is correct this renews every hour when it does not renew  it registers a lost connection. It is not ideal but thst is how the system works and avoids issues where the hub reconnects immeasiatly. The check on networked devices is done in acsimilar way and should be considered a rough check at best. You can see whether your hub is connected in seconds by looking at the lights on it as explained here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/hub-lights-explained-start

if your hub is up and running then the issue is likely to be with your TV which has its own settings menu which should help you find the issue.
