Low broadband download speed
I recently moved from BT broadband to Sky broadband and my download speed has fallen from 55-60 Mbps with a BT Smart Hub 2, to 20-22 Mbps with a Sky Router/hub 4.2. An Openreach engineer came out on Monday and said I should be easily getting 55-60Mbps as he was getting that speed on his equipment when he connected to my phone line.
I have contacted Sky and they are sending a "new" 4.2 hub out to me. The engineer told ne my current hub is reconditioned and defective, how do I know if the replacement will be any better and what do I do if it isn't?! The Sky technician to whom I spoke said that hubs are sent out directly from warehouses all over the UK and that she could not guarantee I would get a brand new/fault-free hub!!

Re: Low broadband download speed
I suspect there is nothing wrong with your hub & its just a difference in WiFi speeds between your BT Hub & Sky hub. Did you run an ethernet speedtest?

Re: Low broadband download speed
The Openreach engineer ran several tests including tha one and was quite clear that the Sky hub is defective.

Re: Low broadband download speed
Right but Openreach only run tests from the incoming cable to their equipment. Did the engineer actually connect a laptop to your Sky router via ethernet & run a test?
