I received an email purporting to be from Sky (see text below - Sorry, this form wouldn't allow cut and paste). I would like to know if this is a legitimate email and that there is indeed a free upgrade programme for old hubs
Hello [my name],
It looks like you're using one of our older Sky Broadband hubs. From March 2025, these hubs will no longer be supported.........
The good news is you can upgrade to a new hub on us
Just log in following the link below before 16 February to order your new Hub 4.

@Highlinder Many thanks for the prompt response - I thought that this would resolve the matter. However, on going to My Messages, I found only two (from Aug 2022); I've had dozens of emails since then - mainly but not exclusively, about Sky VIP. Am I looking in the wrong place maybe.

Which Hub model do you actually have?
It's certainly conceivable that Sky would want to get rid of the remaining SR102 models, and Q Hubs (ER110/115) will technically be obsolete once PSTN is switched off at the end of 2025 as they don't support Sky Talk Internet Calls.

@TimmyBGood hi, it's a SR102.
I take your very good point about the changeover at the end of 2025. What raised my suspicions was the time limitation for the deal. We hear that a scammer may try to hurry an action to get the result they want! Perhaps Sky just wants to get as many swapped out ASAP, rather than having it dragging on right up to switch over.

@Highlinder thanks again - finding a number to ring is like pushing custard uphill. However, I've found a number that the system will not let me post - suffice to say, it has a zero and three threes, then 759 and what might be the year of 2019
Sorry to drag out the discussion but do you think that this would be a good starting point?

The 102 is from 2013, so now a decade old, and I'd imagine Sky would be happy not to have to support them.
Perhaps worth noting that is is also effectively a marketing programme, as typically you'd need to enter a new minimum term to get a new Hub (presumably a 203) and gives Sky an opportunity to upsell to a Max Hub.

@RSpe Wondering if you did ring, and what, if anything, you found out. TIA
