So, long story short...I gave notice on my BB with Sky and moved over to another ISP.
I had full fibre fitted which did not involve any kit already in place ie phone line nor did the ISP put a port request in. I have cancelled the new ISP within my 14 days cooling period for service reasons!
So I called SKY today to discuss my options if I was to come back to them but they cant give me prices due to a 'Keep number request' by a third party 🤷🏼♂️
Has anyone else heard of this or dealt with a similar situation?
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@RichQ did you swapto another isp who uses the Openreach network or to an ISP using a different network? The former is normally straightforward but the latter can beca pain where number porting is invooved.

Hi,
I'd switched to Virgin who I believe use their own network, which leads me to believe it is SKY who have messed up my cancellation and now cant do anything with my account!

It looks lie Virgin have requested a number port.
The problem with ISP's like Sky, that bundle the phone service with broadband, is when a number port is requested it automatically cancels the broadband as well.

I've spoken to Virgin again, and they cannot see anything on the account for a number port. Everything with them is cancelled. Virgin only provided me fibre, I didnt take a phone line or anything else with them.
I think SKY messed up my cancellation as someone un-cancelled it a couple of days after my initial cancellation to run quotes (without telling me they un-cancelled).
