Re: It seems painters unplugged the "Do Not Power Down" plug.
The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the white box on the wall with lights on it.
Unplug the square white jack currently going into it: that's wrong.
Unplug the yellow plug from the wall socket.
Use the two yellow plugs, one into port #4 on the Sky Hub (where it is now) and the other into the ethernet port on the ONT from where you removed the square white plug.
The flat black cable with white and purple plugs is not needed.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: It seems painters unplugged the "Do Not Power Down" plug.
Sorry, I am totally confused.
The yellow cable is already in port 4 of the router. The other end off that cable that is plugged into the socket on the wall take it out.
I don't have a landline. I don't know what ONT is, That is the box with the Green Lights on the wall
The ONT you took a picture off, has the little white plug jammed in it THAT IS WRONG get it out off there, you will find that cable goes all the way back to the hub and the other end is purple, NOT NEEDED remove it all completely.
The yellow plug on the wall goes into that ONT once you remove that little white plug that should not be there....
there are no other internet connections in the house, only the one.
I don't know what I need to do.
I'm sorry. I know you're trying to help. I'm just not in any way techy!

@TapDance Glad you are up and running again and that everyone is happy 😊
Suggestion... Take pictures of wiring and/or connections that you might find complicated if you had to reassemble.
I do this myself eg when having to replace a faulty light switch.
