Issues with connection after street maintenance

We had open reach technicians come to our street to carry out work. During this time we lost internet connection. 

We went out to speak to the technicians to enquire and explain we had issues with the connection since they've been working. 

 

The technician told us that it must be nothing to with them - all though we had no issues prior to them arriving - and that this must be an issue with our provider and the best course of action would be to contact our network provider as they were pretty much done for the day.

 

We waited and have been unable to secure a steady internet connection since they left which was about 2 hours ago.
