Issues with Wi fi connection

I have had  Sky boardband for many years and have never had an issue with my wi fi until last Wednesday.  When sometimes my wi fi devices start running slow and wifi seems to be dropping out.

 

When I have checked my broadband speed is shows several of my devises as being wired to my router (these are the ones that are running slow) when they are not.    I tried several solutions before Sky sent an engineer out yesterday.  

 

He confirmed that the everyone was okay - but thought the problem was the box that the router plugs into and changed this.  He also went round the property and checked the wi fi connection in every room and said that I had good wi-fi connection in every room.  He also confirmed that the broadband package I had was more than enough for the number of devices I had connected to the wi fi.  However, this morning when I have gone onto my laptop - its getting running slow and showing that the device is wired.  I have tried re-connecting to the wifi but to no available.  Anyone else experiencing the same issues?

Can you please post your router stats along with a speedtest taken on an affected device.

I  have done what you have advised but it does not give me a prompt of adding a user name or password - this is all it brings up

Your stats show a good line with no hub issues that I can see. It also shows that you do not have any wired devices so its weird that it is showing some of your devices as wired in the My Sky app but I wouldnt worry too much about that as it can be dodgy. 

 

What kinds of speeds are you getting over WiFi while near the router?

Hiya james

 

sky have done some testing and they have definitely identified a wi fi issue so a second engineer is coming out this week.  No idea what the problem could be as nothing has changed around the house
