Does that confirm my broadband type?

The ont fibre modem confirms full fibre fttp so the asus mentioned should work directly connected to the ont but if you want to retain sky internet calls you could switch wifi off on the sky hub and ethernet the asus to the sky hub and put the asus in access point mode

Yes, you should follow the guidance @cookiemonsteruk provided earlier 👍🏻

@cookiemonsteruk your help has been invaluable. Thank you. So if you are FTTP and have the small white ONT modem, can you plug any router into it?

If you want to replace the sky hub stick with the asus rt ax models otherwise any router can plug into the sky hub and be used as an access point . The asus rt ax52u is not one we hear of much so i use the term "should work" whereas asus rt ax58u and above will work

@cookiemonsteruk I just noticed at the bottom of your post that you still have the SR203 listed. Is there a reason you haven't replaced your SR203?

Mainly to maintain my sky internet calls also living in flats the asus wifi 6 especially on 2.4ghz wifi would interfer with neighbours. The asus rt ax are powerful beasts

Thank you mate. Have a great weekend.

@cookiemonsteruk I plugged in the new Asus RT AX58U into the ONT and it worked straight out of the box. Seeing all of the customisation available on the Asus confirms that replacing the SR203 was the right call. I don't use Sky voice calls so the SR203 is now gone. Thank you again.

Did you enter any authentication details? If you have the connection type set to automatic ip you should see client identifier (option 61) and enter
anything@skydsl|anything
Asus are very sky friendly so the dhcpv6 prefix delegation may be activated . However its best to have 2 authentication protocols active at the same time

I didn't have to enter any option 61 details. Should I anyway?

For redundancy if 1 one authentication method fails you at least have a backup
