I'm having issue to initialise my ring spot light camera to the WiFi of the sky router, I have already read some other post on the community and splitter the 2.4 and 5 ghz connection and try different port, disable all the security. Did someone have already had some issue on that?

DO NOT disable any security/WiFi passwords as otherwise anyone within range can use your network.

I already split the two connections but still not working.... I've tried to call the sky customer center but their answer is to refer to the community....

You need to both unsyncronise AND rename.
It's also worth considering that as a Ring camera is typically external to the property, there may just not be good enough wifi at its location, particularly if it's mounted on a metal door frame or on the other side of Cellotex-type foil-laminate insulation.

I will try to rename it, I'm trying to start up the camera just close to the router so I don't think that there will be any distance issue.
thanks anyway. I will see if rename it will work

I have 3 ring cameras connected to my sky broadband so may be able to help you if you are still having issues.
As others have stated the camera's will only connect to 2.4ghz wifi so you need to seperate the wifi in the router to 5ghz and 2.4ghz and give them both different ssid names. You should then be able to connect the ring camera to the ssid for the 2.4ghz wifi. You may need to reset the camera (battery cover off, hold orange button for 10 seconds etc) and go back through the setup again to achieve this.
In my case I finally caved in and bought a chime pro as the wifi signal from the sky box was pretty weak for one of my camera's although it did work (I just wasn't willing to depend on it staying connected).

The phone has to be connected to the ring cameras wifi when you go through setup so that doesnt make much sense. It will then ask if you want to join the camera to the phones configured wifi - at this point its best to say no and let the app do the wifi scan and then pick the ssid you wish to connect to and enter the wifi password.

The ring cameras will piggyback of the same wifi band as the device you are using to install them

It's not very reliable with the ring camera's - its always best to say no when it askes to connect to same wifi and then go through the wifi selection and pick the ssid manually (and enter the password).

Im not certain but I suspect the ring cameras have issues with multiple access points or mesh systems where the ssid is being broadcast from multiple places - may not be the case in this instance but probably worth not accepting the join current network and manually selecting the ssid instead.

@Skull+TreatyAs you know from being on here that everyone's property is different and Wi-Fi acts differently for each. It is never a one size fits all. That is the nature of the beast we call Wi-Fi.

@Highlinder @Skull+Treaty @@Might be that comment that ring cameras only connect to 2.4ghz being not quite right. I have two flood lights and a doorbell and they all connect without issue with no need to unsyncnorise the Wi-Fi.
