Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

Hi Eveyone,

I have ran into a slight issue and I am currently stuck with what I need to do. I have just had sky full bibre installed to the house and everything has stabalised itself thankfully. I have attached my Tp Link Deco to the ONT terminal so that is the main router providing network to the house and it works really well.

However I am unable to get an Ipv6 address with our connection. only LAN information populates on the app and that is about it. I have read online that apparently sky doesn't have anything regarding Ipv6 just yet and only lan configuration but I just wanted to check just in case. Is there something I am doing wrong or does sky not support Ipv6 yet? I have attached an image of what I see on the app when I am looking at it

Try connecting  the tp link straight  into  the hub instead  of  the  o n t  box  see if that works?

@Danny11616 IPV6 is working fine, you have something wrong with your deco setting. See if the link below is off any use with the setting that you can do on your mobile deco app.

Re: Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

Is there a way of avoiding in doing that. I have the connection all setup and working and the reason why I put the deco in instead of the sky hub was because this would prevent double NAT issues on the network.

Re: Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

Thank you. However after scratching my head for 10 minutes I can't seem to find what could be causing the problem. Would it be the DNS address being set to auto and me needing to put in the same DNS address as the one in the Ipv4?

Re: Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

@JimM1 I have managed to get an IP address populated now which is great. however the primary DNS and secondary DNS is not populating even though it is set to auto. I have followed through to the link you have linked. Do I need to set this myself or is this supposed to populate?

Re: Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

@Danny11616 Currently IPV6 DNS servers are not setup on sky so IPV4 DNS servers are taking care off the IP6 range. It's up to you but would advise you not to unless you are a network engineer and know what you are doing.

Good chance that the Deco will take care and issue IPV6 addresses to your devices, you can easilly check at whatsmyip.com and see what is issued.

Re: Ipv6 for Sky Full fibre

Thank you for this @JimM1 I'll keep the dns servers the same for now. This has really cleared my headache this evening. I'll be honest I have worked with alot of networking as IT is my job but because I am still quite new to all of this and I have recently just installed fibre into my home this was something that really caused me to wonder why something wasn't working.
