Internet very poor and slow
Thought it was just me at first, but now seeing so many other users posting the same thing. Sky Broadband has been acting up all afternoon and still is. I'm on the super fast package, and speedtest sites are showing I'm getting roughly 4Mbps download.
Hope Sky fixes the problem, but I'm not convinced since their service status says everything is OK. Laughable.

Re: Internet very poor and slow
@K-S Hi! Let's get this sorted
Just so you know:
The speed to devices around your home will naturally be lower than the speed to your hub. It can be affected by:
- Your phone, tablet, laptop or any other device. Some devices can handle higher speeds than others – check your devices maximum download speeds.
- The number of apps or web pages that are being used. This include ones being used in the background.
- The layout and construction of your home.
- The number of devices that are connected to your WiFi and what you’re using them for.
- The set-up of your hub and other equipment in your home. Boosters and WiFi extenders can improve the WiFi coverage across your home but can reduce the speed to your device if connected through these.
- If you have a lot of devices with heavy usage connected at the same time you may want to upgrade.
If you only signed up to Sky Broadband and Talk less than 2 weeks ago it's normal for your speed to fluctuate.
When you use the service checker tool with Sky ( Not a third party website as they only measure wifi speed to that device) If the broadband speed coming directly into your house is under 50mbps for 3 days in a row I would suggest getting in touch with Sky as you may be eligible for compensation plus you can get your issue sorted.
It may seem obvious but sometimes turning you hub off and on at the wall can really help things. You can find more tips here
Please let me know how you get on and if you need further help.
Thanks!
Please note: Just like you I am a Sky Customer and do not have access to your account.

Sky provides broadband to something like six million addresses: at any particular point in time it's inevitable that thousands of those Openreach circuits are going to have faults. There's zero indication in this forum that current issues are anything outside of the typical rates.
