To test a connection properly useca device connected byba known fast link which will be an Ethernet cable from a device with a gigabit Ethernet port to the hub.
Slow WiFi is extremely common issue in many homes as people upgrade to full fibre, its probsbly always been there but didnt show up with slower broadband speeds.
