Internet speed dropped to below half.

Hi folks,

 

Over the past three weeks, the connection speed to my router has dropped from 80000kbps down to 34998kbps. Initially it dropped exactly half and then settled where it is now.

 

i have fibre to the building and the remaining copper line is about 25m long.


Is there at sky who can take a look?

Hiya,

 

I use a Vigor 2860 but the available stats are as follows:

 

Profile: 17A

State: Showtime

Upspeed: 19999kbps

Downspeed: 34998kbps

SNR Upstream: 8

SNR Downstream: 23

 

The router has worked flawlessly for many years. The only thing which I feel has changed is a recontract with Sky.

@Andy214Would seem that there is a fault on the line. But for Sky to sort it you might have to put on the Sky router for them to troubleshoot. Should that downstream SNR should be around 6 and not 23.

Hi

we are working from home. Since we moved to SKY BB UF1, still expriencing the same issues with SKY BB with slowness and interrupted connections.

We are very upset with this

I was under the impression that a higher SNR margin, the better?

@Andy214  Have you called Sky at all to see if they can see a fault on the line? Because if they care able to get an engineer out to look at this, but they will ask you to put on the Sky router to do testing.
