The speed of your broadband/WiFi doesnt actually affect gaming much, if at all. Its all about the quality & stability of your connection.
If your gaming device is connected via WiFi and you have lots of other devices connected as well or live in a dense population area then the WiFi connection can suffer no matter how fast your connection is.
When gaming I would always recommend using ethernet where possible.
