Internet keeps dropping out

My WiFi speed drops dramatically, phone won't load, my son can't play online games as the lag is ridiculous. The speeds fluctuate from 140 MB/sec down to just a few. Seems random times. Sky have changed the router, reset the router, sent a new cable for the router but still no better! Please help!!

@Rowson1 please post your hub's connection stats as explained here Find your Sky Broadband router statistics

 

Also can you say how the devices affected are networked eg over wifi, direct ethernet cable etc.

Your problem is likely to be that you have everything connected via WiFi. If you have all your gadgets fighting for WiFi airspace along with all your neighbours too it can quickly turn into an unusable mess. For starters any gaming device should be using ethernet for an optimal connection. 

 

Have you tried changing the WiFi channels manually on your Sky hub?

Thanks @jamesn123 @I don't have any gaming devices. Only stuff really is my sky boxes plus phones and Alexa. I haven't changed any settings no. Sky got me to do a reset at the weekend but it still is hit and miss

In your original post you mentioned your son cant play online games so I had assumed you had a gaming device?

 

Try changing the WiFi channel using the guide below.
