Re: Internet dropped lan flashing

I had a similar problem about 6 weeks ago and I got onto the helpdesk. They said the connection was good to the house but internally there was an issue.
I got no engineer visit but it came back on again

here I am again at the worst possible time

@DouglasGunner To start with are you saying that the PON is flashing Green because THAT is a NO NO!

You can try the ONT off for 5 minutes, then power it back on, if the PON flashes it's a call to sky!

Re: Internet dropped lan flashing

I've done this a few times and the pon flashes

Do you mean I will need an engineer visit

@DouglasGunner you need support from Openreach but not necessarily an engineers visit so call Sky if tgevoonline servicecchecker is not offering to book an engineer..

My own line has had several similar issues in recent weeks where the PON light pulsed green, the LOS light remained unlit and my Sky hub indicated it was trying to connect but could not. The issue was with the equipment generating the opticsl signal at the exchange where it was not sending the correct id for my ONT to lock onto. According to the engineer who came out they had reports from at least one of my neighbours who had an identical issue.

The fibre network is passive (the P in PON!) so the issue was either with my ONT or the OLT at the exchange they could rule out the ONT as multiplecreports on the same distribution point. This went on for a couple of weeks with the connection coming back on its own and dropping again a few hours later. Openreach have told Sky they have resolved the fault a week ago. So far 🤞it has stayed up. Sky customer servicescare around over the holiday but Openreach wont attend until after the holiday unfortunately.
