Your sky q may be in eco mode . To take it out of eco and put it into active or none follow the steps below

For about 2 weeks all my Ethernet ports stop working in the morning for a period of time, but router WiFi still works. Therefore external connection to router okay! Worked out this appeared to coincide with the first time the main sky box was switched on. Note, main box is connected to router via a cable. Tried lots of stuff but still happens. Last thing I tried was switching eco mode off. This morning no issue. Only been one day, so fingers crossed!

It can't be the SKY Q box. I don't have SKY TV anymore and still suffer this problem every night for hours after around 1:30 am. When I tell SKY customer services, they claim to "check" by router speed and "claim" that their system is showing that the wifi never dropped. Lies. Bold lies everytime I bring this up.

If Sky are checking your line/router, and it's not dropping a connection for days/weeks, which your router stats would show, then there's nothing wrong with the line, it's WiFi conditions or the router potentially.

I can only assume that the box talked to the router and set the router in eco mode before the sky tv was removed. If you still have the box plug it back in and turn off the eco mode. This problem is defo eco mode. Sky are very anti insomniacs and want to annoy you more to keep you awake for longer. It might be something to do with them about to launch a sleeping pill range.
or might not ; )

I have same issue as Gaztops, around 10am there is a drop off of signal from the wifi hub (I am on SkyQ)

I've read & taken on board all your suggestions regarding my Q box & 2 minis losing internet connection EVERY morning between 2.30 - 6am ever since I bought them back in 2018.
I have switched all 3 boxes from Eco to None, guess what, it's still happening. All other devices requiring internet, during the same time frame, including the iPhone Im using at 0304 to write this message, are working & always have. The problem is obviously with SKY. Why is this happening please??

I tested this last night. Turned the Sky Q box at 10:30 and immediately got a message saying the Hive camera had gone offline. Turned Sky Q box back on this morning and lo and behold the Hive camera came back online. So either I turn eco mode of or turn the extender off, either way it's a pain. It will have to be the latter as my camera has been offline every day this week between 03:00 and 05:30 - not really secure, is it??

If you do that, then any wi-fi cameras which are using the Sky Q hot spot extender will go offline = no security. Beware.

Wifi dropping out for 3 hours in the night

@BazFis just a regular user much. Why doesn't sky learn if theres multiple issues on forums for the same thing that they need to proactively sort it out. I called sky broadband support today for the exact same eco mode issue and they had no clue?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Vooman the eco standby issue has been something I have posted on since Sky Q lsunched in 2016. The low power standby is a sensible default for the vast majority of people. However where this causes issues for people who need to use either the wifi hotspots or watch TV between 2.30am and 5.45am the solution is simple change the Q box's standby setting to Active or None.
I dont know the reason why the Sky rep you spoke to did not know this but Sky reps answer calls on all products and perhaps he did not look in the correct section of the knowledge base?
