Internet calls handsets ?

I've moved to Sky 500mb full fibre from BT.

Re: handsets for the internet phone ("landline") number I kept when moving from BT, I understand after the move that my existing BT handsets aren;t compatible as internet phones with Sky.

That being the case, I've been advised I need to buy a phone that plugs into the back of the router as VOIP - does that meen if I want more than one handset (for different rooms in the house), that they all need to be ethernet connected into the Sky router...surely not ?

Assuming I can have multiple handsets, any recommendations for a say 2 handset product, don't need bells and whistles.

Thanks in advance

Regards

BT-brand DECT hardware should be OK: what you need to avoid is BT 'Digital Voice' kit because that's proprietary to BT Broadband.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

You'd want a DECT phone set with the number of handsets you require, and definitely not VoIP hardware.  The phone socket (not the ethernet sockets) on the Hub converts local analogue signal to VoIP for broadband transit.

Re: Internet calls handsets ?

Can i further ask - would a BT dect handset therefore be okay with Sky - they're not proprietary to BT only, right ?

For example - https://www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/p/3318096?customerType=consumer

Thanks

Bear in mine that Sky's voicemail is a chargeable add-on, so you want to consider a set with answerphone.
